White was a pretty prevalent color — or non-color — choice at the Oscars this year, more dominant than such usual stalwarts as red or navy. And nowhere was it more prominent, of course, than on our Best Actress winner Michelle Yeoh. Here is the whole list of history she made, per CNN: “Yeoh’s win makes her the first woman of Asian descent and the first Malaysian-born performer to win an Oscar for best actress. She also is the fifth person of Asian descent to win an Oscar in an acting category, the first to win in a lead acting category and also the first actress to win for portraying a Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese-speaking character for her role as Evelyn Quan Wang.” It’s a triumph, and we are thrilled.
