This is Margot’s second Celebration of the Career of Margot Robbie in like three weeks. Please note, before dashing off an angry email to me about this, that I really like Margot Robbie and I think she is very talented! And that I also know that this is all happening because she’s got a movie coming out. (Babylon, the reviews for which seem to be swinging wildly between “this movie LITERALLY made me VOMIT!” to “this is a masterwork!!”) But a Celebration of Life does seem premature when you are this youthful! I suspect this is why she did not wear anything overly twee; this is pleasantly relaxed on her and manages to hit the chic/serious intersection quite well.

Fun fact, this particular Career Celebration was not just for Margot Robbie. It also celebrated Ryan Coogler, who wore an EXCELLENT LOOK:

This suit is so good! I cannot take it.

He was specifically feted by Danai Gurira, whom I love, but whose suit might be veering a little too Your Congresswoman Is Trying Something for me.

And, finally, I just noticed that Everything Everywhere All At Once’s Stephanie Hsu was ALSO celebrated here (with an introduction from the goddess Joan Chen, who still looks amazing):

I might have gone without that white shirt, but I am not in charge of this!
