Obviously, the Met theme is not obligatory, but it’s just so much more fun when designers use it as a platform to splash out and test themselves. I just feel like Louis Vuitton had no interest in any of this, and while the line did create some reasonable pieces in here — nicer than usual, on balance — it’s strange to me to send the ENTIRE brigade of Louis Vuitton All-Stars to an art event it didn’t actually care to approach very artistically.
