It makes good sense that Kate Hudson made an appearance at the Guild of Music Supervisors Awards; Song Sung Blue, the film she’s nominated for this year, is about (in part) a Neil Diamond cover band, and I’m sure the music supervisor on it (Trygge Toven, who was nominated but lost to Gabe Hilfer, who did Marty Supreme) worked hard and she appreciated it. It’s cool, though, for A list celebs to lend their support to events celebrating crew that work below the line. It takes a village!  I also appreciated that she brought the drama here, appearing even though she apparently earlier got caught in her own screen door. (Sort of chicly, though, tbh.)
