Julianne Moore wears so much white and black that initially I was just delighted to see this be something else. But that aside, I still really like it. Her head looks fantastic. The dress is a weird mix of lavender and cream and brown that evokes a stained 1970s family-room carpet, and it doesn’t have much inherent shape, but… y’all, this could easily have turned into a mangy disaster, but it didn’t for me, so I can only conclude that it’s the power of Julianne Moore at work. Context is key.
