Joan attended the the SAGs in 2001 as a nominee for The Contender, and, sidebar, I wonder how many stories were written about her at the time with cringeworthy “contending” puns. She wore this wacky delight, which had an equally low dip in the back — both of which are netting so that her shoulders and a roll of boob tape weren’t doing all the work on their own. The necklace does an admirable job of distracting you from noticing the netting line, so that you’re just looking at this and wondering if there is more bead than material here. It’s like Mardi Gras-themed formalwear. It is a lot. It is a muchness.
