I mentioned the pants in the headline, and yes, they’re very wide-legged and all-the-rage and if I’m being honest they might overwhelm the low-heeled shoe a little. But actually, the common denominator in these photos is Jennifer Lawrence’s purse — a Loewe puzzle tote bag, which I actually rather like but which will set you back a cool $1900, something I cannot fathom for what ends up as a repository for receipts and sunscreen and lipsticks and water bottles and pens that both sometimes pop open and spill their wares. Jennifer carried it here with this mostly casual outfit…
… and then with this slightly dressier ensemble, which overall is quite chic, although the pants probably should sit high enough not to leave the swatch of skin exposed — just from a polish perspective. And yes, I am sitting here having ridiculous mental conversations about things being crisp-casual vs slouchy chic, which is patently absurd but it’s Thursday and we’re deep into August so WHY NOT.
I do think the vibe of Outfit 1 fits the sandals or flip-flops she’s wearing with Outfit 2, which itself would sing louder with the heels she’s wearing in the first pic. Maybe she’s got them in the puzzle bag and will swap them on when she’s done walking. That IS the beauty of carrying a giant purse.
