Jenna Ortega Wore a Dress Made of Rods

Jenna told People that this is a one-of-a-kind handmade dress – built from metal rods – from Elias Matso. who'd been "holding onto it" for her – which, given that his own Instagram post about its construction is dated 27 weeks ago, suggests a LOT of very patient waiting on everyone's part. It's a fun pull because you might not realize it's made of metal until you click on an Instagram link, so it's not walloping you over the head with being thematic, but it DOES also evoke the feeling of circuitry and wires. (She plays a robot in Klara and the Sun.) It's really cool, but even so, you will be unsurprised to hear that I find the Silly Putty-colored shoes to be a deeply boring ending. Worse, a painful one. Look how her feet appear to be jammed into the toe box...

... which perhaps is because they are unequivocally the wrong size. But, you know, it's understandable; she's in New York City, and there notably are no places to buy appropriately sized footwear in any of the boroughs, and certainly not a Saks with a shoe floor that has its own vanity zip code. This was a completely unsolvable problem. Meanwhile, Amy Adams over there is dressed like a hot nun from a high-fashion convent, where "It's giving Mother" has a superior double-meaning. Wink-wink.
