Usually, around this time of year, the PaleyFest panels and SAG-AFTRA discussions seem geared toward getting a show considered for an Emmy nomination. I cannot imagine Emily in Paris, which had both those in one weekend, would be among them?!? Don’t get me wrong — it has its place in my viewing lineup (specifically, I watch it in my room while I’m wrapping Christmas presents, as that’s when they tend to drop the season). But awards caliber, it is not. It’s not well-plotted, it’s only marginally well-acted, it’s not that funny, it frequently taxes any and all emotional or even logistical logic… it’s perfect for when you want something that goes down easy and only needs one eye, or even just half of one, but even a nomination for costumes at this point would be a huge stretch. Maybe they’re just… celebrating getting a sixth season? Who would have thought, truly.
Also, we still need to talk about Lucas Bravo.
