Daisy Edgar-Jones is in Switzerland for the Locarno Film Festival, where she’s both screening Where The Crawdads Sing — a movie I had already dropped from my memory until right this second — and getting an award for being a rising star. Guess Switzerland isn’t so neutral NOW, huh?!? ZING. What a cheap shot. Anyway, I was a bit confused when I read where she is, because her dress feels like an ode to a Flamenco shawl and so I assumed she was somewhere in Spain, paying homage to her host country. Not so! But it’s nice on her. And a business trip to Switzerland sounds divine right now — as does a trip to Spain, so she would’ve won either way — and I hope she ate a lot of fondue and chocolate, and other things that I’m sure are a stereotype but which nonetheless are both delicious and available in Switzerland. To top it off, she does not seem to have gotten her fringe caught in her heels and/or face-planted in front of a crowd, which are sizable victories in my book. Congrats, Daisy, and maybe we can talk about a more interesting shoe sometime?
