Fug or Fab the Edits: Cynthia Erivo in Erdem

This year, the American Ballet Theater honored Cynthia Erivo at its fall gala, because she's very talented and therefore they don't seem to need a ballet connection at all. No complaints here; she is great. For the night, she chose a fresh Erdem worn by Karen Elson on the runway. With the backdrop (and without special lighting, and also, she's petite), you can't see the sheerness at the bottom hem as clearly, and I do think some of the effect is lost. I also can't decide whether I miss what I shall call The Neck Business on Elson's version. This one is crisper, and leaves room for earrings, and doesn't look so much like a Dickensian tourniquet, but the other one is at least visually interesting? This is where normally I would insert a poll for you to help us decide, but Ghost doesn't have a poll function, so we're still figuring out what third-party extension might do the trick. Imagine there are buttons here asking you whether you prefer the runway, or the reality, or something in between.
