Chadwick Boseman wasn’t discovered in 2018, but in many ways it feels like he was: Black Panther is the most runaway hit he’s ever been associated with, he was impressive in it, and — thanks, presumably, to that notoriety and cachet — he spent the year maximizing just about every fashion opportunity he had, making him one of the most interesting surprises of the year. So we thought it’d be fun to go back closer to the beginning and watch him evolve from Jackie Robinson into T’Challa; from plain suits to Versace duds; from jeans to… well, jeans, but probably really expensive ones that he was sent for gratis. Is it a long slideshow? Yeah, sure, but thanks to Chadwick it won’t be a slog.
