I’m sure this is a very fancy materials, or sequins my eyes can’t see, or something else that makes it technically more formal than it looks. But it does read like she’s wearing an extremely groovy set of tailored PJs, and she is definitely one of the few people in the world who could carry it off with panache instead of it overwhelming her. Also, we saw a great plaid coat on Lil Rel Howery and now Cate is in on the action, and Taylor Swift had a brief fling with it at the very beginning of autumn. Are we in for a tsunami of plaid? I HOPE so.
Professor Blanchett, whose class “What a Sheepshow: History of Wool in Fashion” is a huge hit at Barnard, agrees that plaid should happen and soon. I’m sure of it.
