Every time this event occurs, I have to Google it to find out what it actually is — maybe not a great sign for them? — and this go round, I discovered this on its Wikipedia page:

On August 30, 2022, The Hollywood Reporter reported that nine of the group’s members had recently resigned, “roughly 7 percent of its membership tally just two weeks ago” as a result of one member’s actions and ultimate removal “for violating numerous HCA bylaws, including harassment, bullying, slander, sharing member-only information with non-members and breaking the code of conduct.”

Speaking of not a great sign! That THR story is a corker. In case you don’t believe me, here’s part of its lede:

In recent days, the saga has come to resemble a cross between a Christopher Guest comedy and All About Eve, featuring Hollywood strivers, showmanship and, in the views of some, possible swindling.

Swindling! My brows kept getting higher and higher as I read the whole thing. It is WILD. Given everything outlined in this piece, I guess we should be impressed that this event happened at all. Let’s see what people wore?
