This morning, we revealed the results of our Best and Worst of the Oscars poll; now, why not discuss the most successful looks — as determined by your votes! — of the three major awards shows? For those keeping track at home, that’s the Golden Globes, the SAGs, and then the Academy Awards (we didn’t do a Best and Worst of the BAFTAs this year). For my money, the Globes were the most sartorially interesting — they’re the only awards show that required a run-off to determine the best and worst dressed; Evan Rachel Wood almost won her way into the top spot. My theory is that the Globes are often a bit more interesting because they’re a major event (unlike the SAGS, which are fun but not at the Importance Level of the Globes or the Oscars) but they’re not THE OSCARS, which are more…professionally serious. (They’re also the first awards show out of the gate after the holidays, and everyone feels fresh and well-rested, which I think helps in a not insignificant way.)
