Anne Hathaway is currently promoting a thriller she is in with Matthew McConaughey called Serenity and given that it’s being released now during The Months Where Movies Generally Go to Die, I assume it is terrible. This is its official description:
Baker Dill is a fishing boat captain who leads tours off of the tranquil enclave of Plymouth Island. His peaceful life is soon shattered when his ex-wife Karen tracks him down. Desperate for help, Karen begs Baker to save her — and their young son — from her abusive husband. Can I just say that “Baker Dill” is 100% the sort of name that someone has in a movie and no one has in real life? Why aren’t these lead male characters ever named, like, Mike O’Brien or Jason Chang or Dave Martinez? “Baker Dill” is the kind of name that a dude screenwriter comes up with when he sits down and thinks, “what’s like…a really cool name for a dude???????” “Baker Dill” is one step removed from naming this character Cook Parsley or Logger Cumin. ANYWAY! The good news for Anne is that her outfits are better than it sounds like this movie is going to be.
