I’m not sure if Murderbot is supposed to be sexy; I don’t know that it’s supposed to be anything in particular, which is one reason people who read Martha Wells’s stories come away with different imaginings about what one is. But in the Apple TV version, Murderbot, your lead is Alexander Skarsgard, and so Murderbot is definitively very sexy. Reading the books, one never actually roots for Murderbot to get it on with anything or even experience a sexual feeling — it’s just not that kind of party — but Skarsgard has chemistry with basically any form of matter, and I’m curious whether they will keep that at bay here or whether it’ll be thrumming with accidental tension.
