The New York Times ran a piece last week theorizing that Culottes Are Back, and this top photo of Minka Kelly is giving real, “if you say so????” energy. To be clear, the main issue with that outfit is that she looks like she’s going to the club in 2006 from the waist up and then she’s a fit model for Express — also in in 2006 — from the waist down. Are you going dancing, or are you debuting an exciting new silhouette from the makers of the Editor Pant? Who can say? (It goes without saying, of course, that her head looks gorgeous.)

Although I DID think her matching bag — objectively otherwise cute! — was a weird saddlebag construction so as to make those trousers More Interesting and More Directional. Thank goodness that was merely a trick of the eye!
And I guess I’m adding these looks in order of success, because this one is just great:
