I’m surprised Mission: Impossible didn’t shell out a boatload of cash to be the opening film at Cannes. Well, maybe the studio tried and Cannes doesn’t play that, although in this economy doesn’t everyone play that?!? At first I thought it might be because it’s out of competition, but the actual opening movie, Partir Un Jour, isn’t in competition either. I can only conclude that Tom Cruise vetoed Day 1 because he needed an extra day to import a Flowbee for his signature coif.
