You Know What Other Color Had Surprise Staying Power in 2022? Yellow.

I’ve always wondered if one of the reasons Michelle Williams’s famous Vera Wang caught hold of the world so tightly — ditto Reese’s breakup Nina Ricci paired with the bangs — is because both were yellow, and for a long time yellow was a colōrem non grata: tough to pull off, and consequently unforgiving. Not so anymore! In 2021 and now 2022, we let the sunshine in, baby, and it felt good, even when the execution wasn’t. We’ve got all kinds of yellow: canary, sunny, lemon, icy, marigold… come warm up with us, especially if you’re somewhere the weather won’t otherwise allow it.
