There are many rules of fashion, most of which are meant to be broken — you know, like, “don’t wear white after Labor Day,” or “match your purse exactly to your shoes.”

But while I have no problem with breaking those rules, I sort of feel like the lesser-known piece of advice, “never match your hair to your blazer” may still be wisely adhered to.
