Here’s (a somewhat weirdly blurry) Diane Kruger at a Calvin Klein event yesterday:

She looks pretty: simple, cool, capable of negotiating those shoes with more adroitness than would I. But, like many a celeb, she made a wardrobe change at this event:
Into her Germany soccer gear, the better to watch yesterday’s Germany/Spain World Cup match, which appears — from her enthralled, nervous expression — to be airing at the event. And it was in this moment that my fondness for La Kruger morphed into full-on love. Because I can just see her thinking, “Okay, I have to go to the CK thing. OH GOD THAT’S WHEN THE GAME IS ON. DAMN IT. What do I do? I bet they’ll put it on if I ask. I’m going to ask. But I have to wear my jersey. It’s bad luck if I don’t wear my jersey. Shit. Calvin Klein doesn’t make a German football jersey. I’M JUST GOING TO BRING MY OWN.” I get it. I’m a sports fan. A fan has to do what a fan has to do. Too bad for her that it wasn’t enough for her team, but…hey, I bet the event had an open bar. That had to help the sting.
