My temp headline for this was “F4 Sydney,” because that’s where they are, and that made me think of Formula 4 racing — it’s the entry-level stage between go-karts and Formula 3, which of course then goes all the way up to Formula 1. I wish this was THAT movie. They could’ve done F1, F2, F3, and F4 all at once. I want to see Pedro Pascal trying to make it in the dog-eat-dog world of much slower open-wheel racing. Can he fend off Joseph Quinn, the Wario of the karting world who’s finally gone up a tier, or will his Waluigi (Ebon-Moss Bachrach) surprise them all? Will Vanessa Kirby become the first woman to win on the circuit, or will she throw a power drill at Joseph’s face, or both? Stay tuned.
