Prince Charles turns 70 on November 14th, and as is the royal family’s wont, they’ve released some new family portraits to celebrate the milestone, shot by Chris Jackson, the stellar royal photog who’s taken so many of the most successful royal snaps over the last few years. And, indeed, there are VERY CHARMING and full of BABY FACES. Look at Prince Louis’s FAT LITTLE FACE. He looks so much like George, and as such, I want to eat his cheeks. He’s a complete sassy little butterball, and I love him. (He also really looks like Kate to me, more than the other two Cambridge kidlets.)

That is a totally irresistible snap. My main takeaway from these are, basically, that everyone looks REALLY happy: Chaz and Camz, the Cambridges, the Sussexes, even that bench. (I don’t know if William has ever looked as happy as he does in this photo, honestly.) I love the idea that Charlotte and Camilla are buddies — Camilla does love to read, so perhaps she’s sneaking Charlotte, like, flight manuals and chemistry textbooks on the sly. It’s also delightful to me that everyone put on their best blue suit for Chaz, and Kate and Meghan went for the blue/white combo in their own way, too. It’s a very good way to look like a happy family unit, while everyone still looks like themselves. And, yes, Kate’s wearing the same Alessandra Rich dress that Abigail Spencer wore to Harry and Meghan’s wedding. (My head canon is that she came running up to her afterwards and asked her where she got it, then promptly bought it for herself on her phone.) Meghan is — speaking of wedding references! — wearing Givenchy. Either way: Polish up the piano, we’ve got some new pics!
