The time has come, my friends, to look back on a year of Vogues, and place your bets for the year to come! Who will be the lucky recipients of Anna Wintour’s approving nod in 2018? (And, of course, if you want to see how you did in last year’s Predict-a-Cover, that post is here.)

My guesses:

  • Lupita (…because she’s already on January’s cover)
  • Rihanna (because she’s one of the hosts of the Met Gala this year, and also she is Rihanna)
  • Some Random Olympians next month (as it is an Olympics year)
  • Alicia Vikander (for Tomb Raider/because she’s Alicia Vikander and totally the sort of person Anna loves to put on the cover)
  • Kate Mara (for the Chappaquiddick movie)
  • Thandie Newton (she’s in the Han Solo movie and also I really just want this to happen; Emilia Clarke is also in that movie, though, so she might get the nod.)
  • The cast of Oceans 8 (Anna will not be able to resist a cast that has Anne Hathaway AND Cate AND Sandy Bullock AND Rihanna — ooh, but will this give Rihanna two covers?)
  • Amanda Seyfriend (for the new Mamma Mia and because Vogue loves her and she hasn’t been out much lately)
  • Constance Wu for Crazy Rich Asians (I am not sure this will actually happen but I just want to put it out into the universe)
  • Keri Russell (because they like to give it to one TV star every year, and also I just would like this one, too.)
  • Lady Gaga (for the A Star Is Born remake)
  • Emily Blunt (for the new Mary Poppins)

I feel very good about this list, which means I will get every single one of these wrong.
