Art. It's stunning. Check out the designer's Instagram page for more unreal creations – it's just really, really impressive; all props to her stylist, Molly Dickson. I don't know how you top this. I guess we'll find out.

First, please just drink in the scene here. I'm not sure who decided the actors should stop here for photos, because it's INCREDIBLY distracting and swallows even the weird outfits whole. Luckily they had other setups, and for the most part I chose those, but you just needed the eyeful.

Elle plays a young Effie Trinkett (Elizabeth Banks in the original), so of course she was going to wear something crackers – in this case, a ballerina outfit echoing the ballerina on her head. She mostly carries it? The makeup might actually be too on-theme. Her whole head is pink.

A recapper in the Television Without Pity days used to refer to boobs as a woman's dinners, and I don't know why. But I thought of that here because the dress looks like it's serving them on a platter. Weirdly, I liked it best when it was lying on her stylist's bed, artfully shot. And I like it least from this angle.

She looks like a spicy old broad from an Agatha Christie murder mystery. What I can't decide is whether she's the killer, but she DEFINITELY uses that cane to poke people.

But, again, please, why is this happening? At least don't make all the random people milling around part of the INCREDIBLY INTENSE scenery?!?

Well, the skirt is nice... eventually? I used to do needlepoint, and this reminds me of when the yarn in my bag got SUPER disorganized and would topple out in a chaotic lump.

I have been trying for a while to figure out whom he reminds me of, and it turns out, it's him. I looked at his resume, and I saw him in We Were Liars (it's terrible, spare yourselves and read the book instead). This is at least better than what Saint Laurent is doing with big suits; the belt is cool.

He seems like a man who would rather hang out than try in outfits, so he'd be like, "Fine, give me the jacket, I'll definitely know what to wear it with," and then... not really.

What a delicious coat.

She looks excellent, and for a second I thought that flower was a corsage she was wearing on her wrist. It would be apropos!

"ARRRRRR, does anyone need their sails hoisted?"

This is adorable. Very, very well done.

I almost never agree with his hair choices, but the suit is great, and so is the casting. He's playing a younger Philip Seymour Hoffman, and that seems absolutely right. (Although he's only 6 years younger than PSH was in the final movies, and this one is 24 years before the FIRST one, so...)

This photo cracks me up. It should be her holiday card this year. Or, frankly, his.

"Why DID they make this red carpet like a surreal hedge maze?"
