This was Sterling K. Brown’s second in a row; last year, naturally, he won for The People vs. OJ Simpson, which was richly deserved. NBC has to be DELIGHTED that its big hit came away with a win (well, two, if you count last weekend’s statue for Gerald McRaney), given that it seemed impossible that anyone was going to beat John Lithgow, or anything associated with The Handmaid’s Tale, in its other categories. Although if I’m being honest… as much as I enjoy a meaty Lithgow performance, Ron Cephas Jones made William Hill come to life — and death — in the most remarkable ways and he is the winner in my heart.
