Right on the heels of Leighton Meester’s foray into a suit comes Winona Ryder – whom I will never not refer to in my head, and often in print, by the edited version of Johnny Depp’s tattoo that once honored her — at the Black Swan premiere. By the way, did anyone even know Winona was IN Black Swan? Frankly, I couldn’t have named anyone who took part in it other than Natalie Portman, but apparently it’s got Wino and Vincent Cassel and Barbara Hershey, and Mila Kunis, and even Guiding Light’s Tina Sloan and Gossip Girl’s Sebastian Stan (Leighton’s ex, coincidentally). Who knew? I guess it’s all about Natalie with the marketing.
But not right now — this one’s all Wino, forever and always:
She went for more boring — so, practical — footwear than Leighton did, and replaced the actual necktie with a diamond pendant that seems to be approximating a bolo. It’s sort of Veronica Sawyer-sassy, maybe with a touch of a grown-up version of her Gothy Beetlejuice character, or, like, the lady vicar at Edward Scissorhands’ church. However, that is hair I’d sooner expect to see on Jo March’s mother, Marmee, than on the former embodiment of Jo herself. I guess that’s what ending up with boring old crusty Professor Bhaer does to a girl.
