Remember how we all suspected RiRi was going to get the May cover of Vogue, because she’s one of the hosts of the Met Gala, but it went to her co-host, Amal Clooney? Never fear: Rihanna got the nod for June, and this cover was revealed five days before the Gala, so we’ve all still got that synergy.  And it’s a VERY good cover — headlines-wise, it’s sparse, and I wonder if the newsstand will bring us a wordier version.

The interview is pretty much delightful — much of this is because Rihanna herself is great, but also god bless Vogue for still sending a professional writer to do these things; it makes for a better article, and this one, by Chioma Nnadi, is very well written (and funny, emotional, and thoughtful) and worth your time.  Bonus points for the fact that Rihanna also goes through Nnadi’s Tinder account, which I wish she would also do for me.

On top of all of that, this is RiRi’s fifth Vogue cover. Take a look at the new one, and then check out the older ones.
