I’m SO proud of myself. When we covered this Oscar de al Renta collection, I said that I suspected Kate and Meghan were BOTH taking notes and now HERE WE ARE. It is a gorgeous, gorgeous collection. Meghan wore this dress to Bristol today with Harry, where it snowed, along with a vintage coat from William Vintage, a store I REALLY wish I didn’t know about because it feels dangerous to my pocketbook. I love the idea of her wearing vintage clothing — for one thing, it’s sustainable, and for another, it’s interesting and I love vintage and it’s all about ME, after all. She topped it off — well, technically, they’re on the bottom of her look — with these VERY CUTE boots. Overall: I really like this look a lot. (You know I swoon for a pattern.) Anyway, Meghan and Harry undertook a bunch of engagements, starting at the Old Vic; dropping by The Empire Fighting Club, “which aims to fight the impact of deprivation on young people’s lives through boxing,” per KP; and an event at One25, an organization which, in their own words, “reaches out to women trapped in street sex work, supporting them to break free and build new lives away from violence, poverty and addiction,” where they packed lunches and care packages:

That is a damn good cause, and good for them for taking something on that is very necessary and hugely empathetic, but that some people might think was “inappropriate.” (Certainly, Diana had no problem tackling issues that might have fallen into that category.)
Lots of good snaps from today. Doesn’t it look like a Hallmark Christmas movie here?

This should come in handy for stress relief:

Finally, before we get to the slideshow, a note: Comments got pretty heated on yesterday’s post, for whatever reason. I understand that people have strong feelings about Meghan, in both directions (and strong feelings beget other strong feelings). That it and of itself is fine; as ever, it’s cool for people to disagree. But I’m going to reiterate that I’ve always thought of these comment sections as Heather’s and my living room — a place where everyone is welcome, and conversation can and should be wide-ranging, but where people also speak to each other the way they would if they were face to face. (This includes not engaging with people you do not like, sometimes!) I’m asking you, as your host, to please try to bear this in mind going forward. Thank you!
