As with the Globes in January, many activists walked alongside actresses at the BAFTAs, and we got some interesting variations on the fashion blackout: lots of sparkle and detailing and flourishes. And also much like the Globes, it ended up being a pretty well-turned-out red carpet, on balance. Then again, I’m tired and the last photo I looked at just now was Tessa Thompson, so maybe that tinted all my memories into something rosy and wonderful.
