The BET Awards were last night — held virtually, and honestly it was logistically flawless. I need an entire article walking us through the logistics of putting the show together; I assume most of it was pre-taped and then just edited together, but it felt as close to live as I think they could get. The BET Awards are always really enjoyable, because the musical performances are always great, and this one was no different on that front. Obviously, there wasn’t a red carpet, and most of the outfits we can see are mostly from the waist up, and there weren’t snaps of everyone — but we’ll do our best!
