The disco derangement of Alessandro Michele’s Gucci is definitely past us. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing; there are some nice coats (see above) and dresses in here, amid the predictably wan lace sheers. Overall it’s not exactly captivating and doesn’t set a particular mood, so it’ll be interesting to see where this goes in terms of sales — Gucci is reportedly struggling this year, although it’s hardly alone in that — and whether the celeb clientele will get much of this, or whether Gucci will take the Vuitton approach and cordon off the custom stuff from the runway, keeping its most glamorous ideas for the star clients.
