No need to check your calendar, it is Thursday; tomorrow is Juneteenth, so it’s a three-day weekend for those of us in the United States. We will be back to business on Monday as usual. If you’re celebrating Father’s Day on Sunday, I hope you have a great time.
It was another full slate at Drinks With Broads this week! Tuesday’s free edition brought a look at one of my favorite vintage cookbooks and Heather’s opinion of Disclosure Day, complete with some Hot Spielberg Takes. (Hot takes ABOUT Spielberg, although young Steve WAS cute.) Today’s edition tackled weird Etsy wormholes, the newest dispatch from the Under-eye Patch Studies, and the charming new Martin Short doc, plus WTF is happening over at Matlock? Also this week! The latest edition in our Game Changers book club, Common Goal.(The comments on that one are really fun. We need to do more book clubs.)
Here at GFY, I rounded up a bunch of just basically cute stuff I thought you might like with no real overarching theme other than just, “Look at this!” Like, there’s a little pickle lamp in there. Our best-sellers from this week were: (1) The Dr. Brandt under-eye cream, which IS elite, and which is (as of my typing this) also on sale; (2) the Quince fisherman sandals, which almost made it last week, congrats fisherman sandals!, tied with this longtime Fug Favorite beach sweater from J.Crew Factory, which is currently on big-time markdown; (3) this great little linen dress, also from Factory, also currently on markdown. Honorable mention to this also very cute little dress, which almost snuck in there.

AGREED: If You Don’t Get a Free Breakfast at a Chain Hotel, You’re Being Cheated. (I’m delighted that I stumbled on a Danny Lavery piece at Food & Wine.) I also ALWAYS recommend booking the hotel with the breakfast included if you’re going on vacation (say, if your Costco Travel package offers it). I hate having to figure out breakfast on vacation and also, crucially, I LOVE a hotel breakfast and hotels in general. When my husband and I were in Italy last summer, the hotel breakfasts were so elite.
