I used to REVEL in the Daytime Emmy Awards. Now I'm not even sure when they're happening, or if they're airing. But I'm glad soaps still exist enough to have them – I know they also cover talk shows and short-form programming like what Keke Palmer won for (something called *Glam Through The Ages*), but soaps were the bread and butter and should forever be. Thankfully, *Beyond the Gates* is doing well enough to not just beef up some of the categories, but win them. I wish they'd hung onto more of the soaps and done them seasonally instead – like, keep *General Hospital* year-round, if that works, but then split a second time slot between *All My Children* and *One Life To Live*, in chunks. IMAGINE the finales they would have concocted.
