YES, once again this post was inspired by the Duchess of Sussex — more specifically, her recent appearance at polo in one of her classic trusty hats. (Which is sold out, but J.Crew has an amazing duplicate [a duplicate that might honestly be basically the same hat, as Meghan’s was from Madewell].) In the course of discussing her look, we got to talking about sun hats in general and yada yada yada yada, here we are. I personally LOVE a straw fedora because you can really just pop it on and then go about your errands/go to the pool/head off to a BBQ without worrying too much about your hair and yet you still look as if you tried.  And it’s fun because the more casual fedora is a step up from the baseball cap that doesn’t get all the way to formal hat-hat, which might be too much for a jaunt to the farmer’s market. (And don’t get me wrong, I wear a baseball cap A LOT; I just wear my classic Dodgers hat, but FYI this polka dot one is really cute if you want one that’s less athletic.)

So, BEHOLD SOME HATS. And, as a pro-tip: If you feel that you might be a bit hat-shy, Target has a TON of cheap hats that you can get and test-drive without it being a huge financial commitment. I’ve included some below, but I bet their sales rack is very hat-y right now, so take a look when you’re there buying sunscreen and a new garden trowel or whatever.

Also as ever: Like most websites, GFY uses affiliate links where available, which means we get a tiny bonus if you get yourself something new. I can assure you that all hats were personally chosen by me while I sat around drinking iced coffee and watching the World Cup.
