Hello, I’m supposed to be packing up my closet today but instead I’m procrastinating! On Friday, Fug National Jasmine (who, while I’m on the subject, has a GREAT book coming out in February that you’ll love) asked if we could put together a shopping post with oxblood/burgundy leather jackets similar to the one that Meghan Markle wore for her big debut as Harry’s One True Love last week, and I am nothing if not open to suggestion.

First of all, Meghan’s ACTUAL Mackage jacket is sold out basically everywhere (which is unfortunate, because Shopbop is having a big-ass sale today [Saturday] and we could have gotten a deal. On the other hand, this sale is what made me pull the trigger and buy the jeans she wore to watch tennis with Harry, although I picked the ones without any rips in the knees. Will they look good on me? Who even knows?!)

Having said that, there are actually a decent amount of options out there and at a variety of price points (all of the ones I’ve stuck in the widget are under $300, and a few of them are under $100), but these jackets are selling fast. One really good one sold out literally as I was typing this paragraph. Do not tarry. The Meghan Effect is legit. I also have to note that I included one jacket that is not in the leather/pleather family at all — it’s velvet — but it was too cute, and too similar in shape, to resist (plus, we saw a LOT of velvet for this fall so I think it might be a smart buy anyway).

This is from the Eva Mendes Collection, of all things, and that kind of delighted me. It is ALSO on sale right now.

If you’re interested in spending a bit more, our friends at J.Crew have a decent option at $495, but honestly if you’re going to splash out, I might get this Maje one instead?

(Though sizes are currently v. limited on it.)

ALSO, please note that it looks like one of the jackets in the below widget is black; it’s ALSO available in burgundy/oxblood but I couldn’t get the widget to let me show you that color. JUST TRUST ME.

Wow. This post has a lot of caveats.

Without further ado:

As ever, if the widget above does not appear, just refresh and it should work. Happy Saturday shopping!

As a general housekeeping note: This is not a sponsored post. Our jacket allegiances are ours alone. Like most websites, GFY uses affiliate links where available, which means we get a tiny bonus if you click through. I can assure you that all these jackets were personally chosen by me while I sat around drinking all the caffeine and watching John Oliver.
