Listen, I love a GIANT TOTE as much as the next person. I like a bag so large that it will throw off my spinal alignment. And yet sometimes a person needs a small, more practical bag — like, when you’re just going to the movies and you don’t actually need to bring sunscreen and a water bottle and a book. Or, say, if you’re just walking up the street to buy bread pudding (don’t judge me, I live very close to a tiny cafe that makes amazing bread pudding and sometimes I go get some!) and you don’t need, like, an umbrella and a cardigan and six magazines. Sometimes, you just need a smaller, practical little bag for your keys, phone, money — and, of course, some lip balm because you’re not an animal and you will want to put on some kind of lip-related glop in the next forty five minutes. Personally, I have two such bags: An old one from Gigi New York, which is actually really only a “small bag” in comparison to my usual GIANT BAG (it’s basically like this one, but a bit more structured); and this one from LK Bennett that I got when they were having their huge sale, which is actually legit pretty small (my wallet doesn’t fit in it).

Obviously, the real question is: The fanny pack. Are you doing this? I kinda get it for times when you’re going to be walking a lot.

Leaving that aside, look at these options! (Some of these are still marked down from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and the J.Crew ones are ALSO eligible for some percentage off, as they’re also having a sale, just FYI.)

FYI: GFY uses affiliate links where available, which means we get a tiny bonus if you get yourself something new. I can assure you that all bags were personally chosen by me while I sat around drinking rosé and watching Below Deck.
