This is not the first time we’ve covered this topic and I’m sure it won’t be the last. It seems I have a bad habit of writing these posts when I personally am shopping for something, even just window-shopping. Did you read that Elle article I posted in last week’s Fugs & Pieces about how online shopping has killed the old-fashioned tradition of shopping with your friends? I think sometimes I am forcing you all to shop with me, and for that….I thank you for your service.
As we have mentioned, Heather and I are going to the UK on Tuesday to cover Harry & Meghan’s wedding and WE’RE VERY EXCITED and obviously I am obsessed with the question of what I am going to pack. Right now, I am fixated on my shoes. We’re going to be walking a lot, so obviously I need comfy shoes but also I’m VERY VAIN and so I need cute ones as well. Leaving aside the question of Who Knows How The Weather Will Be, at the moment — in the category of Shoes I Can Walk In — I am packing my gold Birkenstocks (probably it will be too cold but who knows and I like to have sandals in case/to walk around inside sometimes); my beloved M. Gemis, which I SUPER recommend; and my gold Oxfords (the company doesn’t make them any more, but they look like these). Did I spent MANY an hour wondering if I need Fashion Sneaks, like these? Yes, and then I noticed that apparently those run large and I think they won’t fit me so maybe I should GET A GRIP. I think I’ll also bring these other M. Gemi flats which are HIGHLY serviceable and kinda remind me of those Lanvin ones Angelina Jolie favors.
The issue is, there are so many flats which I haven’t worn and which may not be comfy at all, but which are also SO CUTE. For example:
Many of these are also pretty work-friendly, depending on your job. If you are a firefighter, maybe not? But you still need cute shoes for your off hours!
Like most websites, GFY uses affiliate links where available, which means we get a tiny bonus if you click through and/or get yourself something new. I can assure you that all shoes were personally chosen by me while I sat around drinking TJ’s Pellegrino substitute and watching the Dodgers.
