Meanwhile, Dakota is so shiny, she’s actually reflecting off her sister.
Having said that, this photo makes me hungry for a movie where these sisters play sisters who are estranged, but have to learn to work together to…let’s see. Save the world from sinking into the hell-mouth opened when one of them accidentally awakens an ancient demon with a grudge? Yes, that tracks. Elle is an energy-healer who rattles around their late parents’ half-wild (but fantastic) estate in the foothills of Altadena, living off her giant trust fund and occasionally going into town to buy expensive queso at Bristol Farms, but mostly seeing two clients a week and half-assing a series of terrible paintings (she is, clearly, the one who accidentally awakens said demon); Dakota was disinherited when she moved to Vegas with her much-older boyfriend instead of going to Vassar but, recently widowed when said boyfriend-turned-husband fell into the volcano at the Mirage, comes home to save her baby sister and find herself again. They learn, they love, they save the world, Dakota embraces caftans, it’s a whole happy ending.
