Rosanna Konarzewski was involved in the efforts bringing the Bayeux Tapestry to the British Museum from France, so I get why she decided to wear it! I suspect this was a very complex undertaking.

It does take a vast skirt to fit the entire tapestry onto it.

I think we can all agree that Gwendoline Christie is exactly the right person to be swooping into museums in a filmy cloak and carrying one red rose. I assume that whomever is gifted said rose ends up under some kind of ideally positive enchantment.

This DOES feel like something someone would reject for a Valentine's Day party for being "too on the nose," but in fairness, it is NOT Valentine's Day, so carry on. I LOVE what I can see of those shoes, although I would not be able to walk in them and would find myself falling through a wall.

He looks perfectly reasonable – if chilly? – and she looks like she probably had to deal with a lot of annoying people making jokes about untying her dress.

This is, of course, totally weird and very artsy but! It works perfectly for this event AND she wears it with total elan. Talk about the right mix of event, ensemble, and person.

This is beautiful on her, and I assume she said the theme "red," and thought, "my lipstick will do." (That is a GREAT lipstick color.)

Another case of lipstick fulfilling the brief. Mick looks like he's having the TIME OF HIS LIFE. Maybe he's an avowed lover of tapestry.

He's the editor-in-chief of Bloomberg and used to be the EIC of The Economist and also Mr. Kristin Scott Thomas. (I recently saw an interview where she was talking about him and she was, like, giddy about him, which is very sweet.) She looks very glam and those earrings are amazing.

This is GLORIOUS. Obviously, she's gorgeous and an astonishing model for the dress, but still. What a triumph.

I feel like we've seen several versions of this dress lately and let me just say that this is not the vibe that I would have thought would multiply.

Having said that, I do think the hat really sells it.

DING DONG! She looks incredible in this. I do not even want to think about the machinations required to get in and out of this garment successfully. (Although surely it's lined.)

This has the very faintest vibe of Headlining Magician at the Magic Castle.

Confession time: For AGES, I thought Lottie Moss was Kate Moss's DAUGHTER but she is her sister. (In my defense, they're 24 years apart.) (I discovered this when I ran across an article about how they're unfortunately currently estranged.) Anyway! This dress is lovely but you know that feather was annoying.

This feels really...professional. Like if you didn't know she was an actress, I think I could tell you that she's the president of the British Museum and you'd be like, "yes, that tracks."

We are seeing a lot of what I'll call High Fashion Saloon Girl lately and in terms of HFSG looks...this is a great one. It's inherently costume-y, but this event can hold a bit of costume. There's a woman in a tapestry.

This is an amazing and dramatic entrance! Take that, Met Gala. As mentioned in the intro, she's the event's artistic director, and she's also amazingly accomplished. That necklace is major.
