## Rosanna Konarzewski in Hermione de Paula

Rosanna Konarzewski was involved in the efforts bringing the Bayeux Tapestry to the British Museum from France, so I get why she decided to wear it! I suspect this was a very complex undertaking.

## Rosanna Konarzewski in Hermione de Paula

It does take a vast skirt to fit the entire tapestry onto it.

## Gwendoline Christie in Giles Deacon

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300693628.jpg)

I think we can all agree that Gwendoline Christie is exactly the right person to be swooping into museums in a filmy cloak and carrying one red rose. I assume that whomever is gifted said rose ends up under some kind of ideally positive enchantment.

## Leslie Manville

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300697831.jpg)

This DOES feel like something someone would reject for a Valentine's Day party for being "too on the nose," but in fairness, it is NOT Valentine's Day, so carry on. I LOVE what I can see of those shoes, although I would not be able to walk in them and would find myself falling through a wall.

## Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter in Simone Rocha

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300704410-1.jpg)

He looks perfectly reasonable – if chilly? – and she looks like she probably had to deal with a lot of annoying people making jokes about untying her dress.

## Erin O'Connor in Roksanda

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300699384.jpg)

This is, of course, totally weird and very artsy but! It works perfectly for this event AND she wears it with total *elan.* Talk about the right mix of event, ensemble, and person.

## Dianna Agron in Erdem

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300699598.jpg)

This is beautiful on her, and I assume she said the theme "red," and thought, "my lipstick will do." (That is a GREAT lipstick color.)

## Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick in Grace Faena

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300710645.jpg)

Another case of lipstick fulfilling the brief. Mick looks like he's having the TIME OF HIS LIFE. Maybe he's an avowed lover of tapestry.

## John Micklethwait and Kristin Scott Thomas

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300728045.jpg)

He's the editor-in-chief of Bloomberg and used to be the EIC of *The Economist* and also Mr. Kristin Scott Thomas. (I recently saw an interview where she was talking about him and she was, like, giddy about him, which is very sweet.) She looks very glam and those earrings are amazing.

## Adot Gak in Rahul Mishra

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300731286.jpg)

This is GLORIOUS. Obviously, she's gorgeous and an astonishing model for the dress, but still. What a triumph.

## Natasha Lyonne

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300737231.jpg)

I feel like we've seen several versions of this dress lately and let me just say that this is not the vibe that I would have thought would multiply.

## Natasha Lyonne in Philip Treacy

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300731347.jpg)

Having said that, I do think the hat really sells it.

## Cush Jumbo

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300737502.jpg)

DING DONG! She looks incredible in this. I do not even want to think about the machinations required to get in and out of this garment successfully. (Although surely it's lined.)

## Wyclef Jean

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300738321.jpg)

This has the very faintest vibe of Headlining Magician at the Magic Castle.

## Lottie Moss in GYUNEL

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300738724.jpg)

Confession time: For AGES, I thought Lottie Moss was Kate Moss's DAUGHTER but she is her sister. (In my defense, they're 24 years apart.) (I discovered this when I ran across [an article about how they're unfortunately currently estranged](https://www.thedailybeast.com/obsessed/kate-moss-sister-lottie-moss-reveals-they-have-next-to-no-relationship?ref=gofugyourself.com).) Anyway! This dress is lovely but you know that feather was annoying.

## Katherine Waterston

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300739696.jpg)

This feels really...professional. Like if you didn't know she was an actress, I think I could tell you that she's the president of the British Museum and you'd be like, "yes, that tracks."

## Maya Jama

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300691244.jpg)

We are seeing a lot of what I'll call High Fashion Saloon Girl lately and in terms of HFSG looks...this is a great one. It's inherently costume-y, but this event can hold a bit of costume. There's a woman in a tapestry.

## Es Devlin

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/2026/10/GettyImages-2300693776.jpg)

This is an amazing and dramatic entrance! Take that, Met Gala. As mentioned in the intro, she's the event's artistic director, and [she's also amazingly accomplished.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Es%5FDevlin?ref=gofugyourself.com) That necklace is major.

[Folks Went Big and Dramatic for the British Museum BallYes, a woman wore the Bayeux Tapestry. (I mean...a replica. But still.)![](https://static.ghost.org/v5.0.0/images/link-icon.svg)Go Fug YourselfJessica![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/thumbnail/GettyImages-2300143580-1-ca748ff9-57ab-4fe0-a9da-e5ef926cdb81.jpg)](https://www.gofugyourself.com/british-museum-ball/)
