So, this gala is not in service of Airbnb itself, exactly; it's for Airbnb.org, their non-profit arm that provides housing for families displaced by natural disasters, illness, and other generalized and financially intrusive chaos. That certainly does account for why so many A-listers attended: The party was in Los Angeles, where so many people lost their homes to fires in two different parts of the area. Given that, I'm not almost surprised even MORE of them weren't there.
