Well Played, Zoe Saldana

well-played

Zoe had a long way to go after the Nicodemus Groin ‘Stache.

But she got there in one graceful Center Stage-esque leap, the likes of which would make even Peter Gallagher’s angriest eyebrows twitch with possibility.

She was beginning to scare me with her choices and I was losing hope that she’d come back. But I’m ok with this coral creation. Good choice, Zoe.

That is awesome. Not completely on board with the intensely roach-stomper toe line, but the color is good and she kept it simple.

I wouldn’t call this coral — in this picture, at least, it seems to be the exact pink of a ballet slipper. At any rate, it’s stunning: great fit, great drape, unusual but classic, and sexy withut being obvious. Fabulous.

Love! Also, Heather, you should totally write copy for the back covers of paperbacks.

After seeing the Colombiana trailer, my BF said “She felt all strong and started cheating on her husband.” Zoe Saldana is the new Jada Pinkett Smith, ladies and gents.

    Forking beautiful.

It’s nice, I guess, but leather dresses? Not the most flattering thing you could put on your body, especially if you weigh more than 100 pounds, which Ms. Saldana does not.

This dress looks like it’s molded from Silly Putty. I’m itching to press the Sunday Comics against it to see if Li’l Abner or Beetle Bailey will transfer.

Gorgeous – and I actually love the shoes – I’m so glad that style is coming back (but I’m bummed I finally threw all of mine in that style out last year. ONE MORE YEAR and I could have worn them again!)

Also, to Annabeth – it looks coral on my monitor. Sometimes our monitors give us different colours – I know that from when I post a nice turqouise something or other on my blog on my puter at home and at work I check it and I’ve got some teal thing instead. :)

I don’t like the Barbie-foot-shaped shoes, but love everything else.

@bettymac: Silly Putty! Yes! Hahaha! (I still like the dress, though.)

On my monitor, the dress appears to be about the same shade as my “blush” Prismacolor pencil. If that means anything to anyone. ;-)

I’d give it an A+ if not for the fugly, witchy looking pointy toed shoes.
    She’s so cute.

Sweet funky BATHrobes, this girl is pretty. <3

Excellent cut, fit, length, and all, but still, you know, it’s… leather. I’m no vegetarian, but I’ve worn the occasional leather skirt or vest, and that material meant for shoes, bags, accessories, and heavy jackets and not delightful sleeveless pink mini dress. And can’t the designers give us more shoe choices than hooves or witchy-poo toed pumps?

If you had just said the words “pink leather dress” to me I would have thought YUCK! but I like this. It fits very well and the color is really good on her.

I just…can’t. I want to….but I can’t. I just don’t think leather dresses can be done in anything but black.

She looks great. Leather dresses ordinarily weird me out, but she is carrying this off gracefully.

    Gorgeous woman. Scrawny chicken legs.

It’s a pretty color and she looks good, but I have to agree with the “leather?” sentiment. (Although that may be because I am a vegetarian.)

Sorry, this is a vinyl tablecloth on post-Easter clearance at Target.

Omg, I can’t believe you guys (fuggirls) opted to ignore the stunning lace detail on the back of this dress! That’s the best part!

I think Zoe Saldana is slowly starting to develop a great sense of her own style. She slips up occasionally, but she knows what she likes and wears the hell out of what she puts on, fug or otherwise.

The silly putty comment made me laugh! Like the cut of the dress, but the color falls just over on the dull side of the spectrum for me. And are the pointy toes coming back, because I just found an expensive pair in my closet that are inching closer to the donate bag.

I much prefer the pointy shoes to the clodhopper look. While something less pokey might have worked better, the points are echoed in the gathering of the dress, which I’m digging on. Agreed on well played.

I wonder if it smells like leather. Also, did you see the back ? Weird lace if I remember.

These shoes are great. So refreshing after what has been heavily worn by the celebs lately. The whole look is really fresh and light (despite the leather). Approved!

I really like the total look. If the shoes fit properly, they’d be fine.
