Well Played, AnnaSophia Robb

well-played

You know, when she doesn’t have the Carrie Bradshaw wig, I sort of miss it.

But AnnaSophia looks really pretty here — in fact, this would be approved of pretty heartily by Latter-Day Bradshaw. And probably Sarah Jessica Parker. And — I say this with love, SJP — it’s actually BETTER than a lot of what La Parker has put on lately, so maybe the two of them should do some information-swapping: SJP on the nuances of the ’80s and all its requisite dancing and leotards, and ASR on What To Wear That’s Not What You’ve Been Wearing.

That dress is awfully sweet. Cloying, even.

This is very pretty. Kinda perfect for a Cinderella event, down to the shoes. And super glad they are silver and NOT nude.

It really is nice to be able to remember that people once wore metallics as the versatile accessory of choice, isn’t it? I have mirrored silver heels like hers and I’m dying to wear them.

It might be teetering on the edge of “ice skater”, but it’s cute and works on her and for her age. I’m an apologist for AnnaSophia, because she was in Winn Dixie with my other husband Dave Matthews.

Cute dress! And OMG I had silver shoes in the 80′s – are these coming back?

The dress is adorable and perfect for a pretty young actress. Really perfect. Compare her happy smile to the grims from the fairy tale show…thank you Anna s.

I find this fairly heinous. It reads inexpensive to me…almost “costumey.”

I’m not feeling those fringy things on the skirt, reminds me of those cheap pompoms made with plastic bag materials that easily gets static-y.

Looks like my First Communion dress (minus the feathers, which seven-year-old me would have LOVED.)

All I see is bobblehead. Alas!

      Yup, same here. Bobblehead.

I’d probably love this on Quvenzhan√© Wallis.

She looks cute! I like it! I even covet her shoes!

That dress is awful, imo. It looks like something an 8 year old would wear. The sleeves, the neckline, the feathers/lace… yikes.

    Two comments:

    1) This is too young, even for someone as young as her.

    2) Nobody looks good in the new high necks, not even actresses! Somehow the combination of the seamless high necks, the fusiform torso, and the wide shoulders combine to make anyone who isn’t a swan-necked model look bulky and no-necked. Not even actresses look good in these things, and they’re as slim as models, if not as elongated. DO NOT BUY THESE THINGS, NORMAL WOMEN!

Twee squared, in virginal white. But in coral, yellow, rose…?

Well, she WAS at a Cinderella premiere. I think it matched the affair.

Way, WAY too twee. Even Zooey Deschanel and Michelle Williams would think it’s too twee

Infantile. And made of some kind of nasty candy.

really? this looks like ‘First Communion Day on Ice’ to me.

She looks like a girl heading to First Communion who first walked through a basement full of spiderwebs. I really dislike this.

Not feeling it. It’s like she’s starring in “Bridesmaids on Ice.”

Love her as Carrie, though — she’s adorable, but totally natural.

Oh no, no, no. Twee and she looks like she’s molting. Ick.

Those shoes are so shiney I can see her underwear.
