SAG Awards Well Played: Gabby Douglas

well-played

I have never said this before, ever, and maybe never will again: This fantastic dress SO makes me want to be a teenager again.

Except when I was a teenager, I never would have dressed this well, ever — but then, if I got to go back with all the knowledge I have now, I could fab myself up and then leave everyone with the most stirring memories of my awesomeness. It’s really unfortunate that time-travel and astral rewinds have not been invented as pleasure sports. What the hell else are scientists doing that’s so freaking important anyway? Sheesh.

She is the cutest girl in the world. The dress is perfect for her.

I’m glad she gets to have some fun after all those years of training. That dress is really cute and she looks great. But surely somebody could have found shoes that fit her?

Exactly. She looks like she’s teetering – even though we know she is capable of perfect balance!

She’s certainly cute as a button, but honest question….why is she at the SAG awards? I totally understand why she’s been showing up on the red carpet since she is in fact a celebrity, but my impression is that the SAG awards is stricly attended by actors. Is she trying to break into the industry? Again, no snark intended, I’m just surprised to see her here.

She did have a (non-speaking) guest role on Vampire Diaries… so maybe she has her SAG card now?

The dress is cute, though nothing mind-blowing or particularly gush-worthy in my opinion.

Make it a little longer and I’d wear it now.

Eh, it’s an appropriate dress for a teenager. Nothing worth ‘Back to the Future-ing’ over.

It’s adorable, but it needs fitting, badly, because it does fit badly. And I’d like to see it hemmed a couple inches longer; it’s perfectly appropriate as is, I just think the proportions would look a lot better.

She deserves better fitting shoes, and maybe a bracelet instead of the ring.

She is the cutest, tiniest little thing. She looks completely adorable and I am totally with you on the wistful nostalgia train.

She is the classic cute teenager. I’ll never forget watching her spring all over the place like she was made of rubber at the Olympics. I wish I could do that.

I don’t like any of it apart from the color. The dress looks like wrapping paper. Shoes and hair are also not good IMO.

    My goodness, isn’t she lovely?

I’m not a huge fan of the bubble hem, but the dress is cute. It would be cute a couple inches longer, IMHO.

She looks amazing and very very cute. And that hairdo is a glossy super shiny bitch slap to all the morons who said dumb things about her during the olympics :p

Aw. It looks cute and fun, and that dress is exactly what I would want to wear if I was a willow-thin teen gymnast who got to attend the SAGs. Yay for vicarious wish-fulfillment. Remarkable how “cute and fun” escapes so many of the people who style teenage stars, but Gabby seems to have nailed this one. Good on her.

    She is too darling.
