Meryl Streep gets away with a lot, simply thanks to being Meryl Streep. In fact, I think these nomination for The Iron Lady are TOTALLY because she’s Meryl Streep, given that — based on the commercials, so this is obviously a measured and informed opinion — she seems to be doing her Julia Child voice in that movie. I do, however, think this is kind of a step up? Let’s look.
