I am not made at Muiccia anymore! (some of those hijinks on the redcarpet and the dressing of the younger Fanning in crazy shit had me very cranky with Prada for a long time). This is a beautiful dress – on a beautiful woman.
Also, the Giambattista Valli was stunning on her. The shoes did look matchy.
That color is gorgeous and absolutely perfect on her.
I agree. The color is just so fresh and beautiful! I love the colors and texture of the bodice. Kerry is so stunning, and I think this was perfect. One of my top 3 of the night (Kerry, Naomi, Charlize in no particular order).
Ooh, I don’t know. Maybe I’m tainted by all the bodice-hoisting stories, but to me there appears to be some fit issues. I think it’s another one for the “there’s no shame in going up a size” books.
Fit issues aside, I also just don’t think it’s tremendously flattering on her. And why doesn’t the fabric belt go all the way around?
I agree, I didn’t think the fit was great, or flattering. On television, there were some strange lumps and wrinkles, and the skirt looked like a pretty sausage casing. As for the top, it looked like she smashed into a chandelier and decided to wear it. I love the color, and she is gorgeous.
Exactly. Not a fab.
TOTAL fit issues.. that and all i could think about the whole time was the inside of her arms must be getting RIPPED TO SHREDS from all that giant sequining.
Love the color of the dress, but hate the hair. She’s got Katy Perry’s hair from the Grammys, which was also horrible. I can’t that imagine that a middle part, flat on top and round brush puffy on the sides would flatter anyone.
I don’t love the Oscars’ dress, it’s just FINE for me! And, I really don’t like the red shoes with it, they should’ve been gold, which would’ve worked beautifully with the orange-red of the dress! But, I adore the 2nd outfit! COVET! ½ FAB!
I adore this, but axe the belt. Breaks up a line that doesn’t need to be broken up.
When she walked out on stage in that gorgeous dress, my boyfriend and I had been in the middle of discussing how hot she is, until we both stopped mid-word and said “hoooooly shit”. She looked amazing. That dress is phenomenal.
This may be the best-fitted strapless of the night. She probably only had to wrangle it on exiting the car because the fabric had been pulled by the seat, getting in and out; it looks perfect here, as it did in motion. Great color, and with the embellishment on the bodice, minimal accessories were the way to go. Total win!
Both looks are winners. That coral color is to die for, well done.
Needs lip colour.
I need those shoes in the last picture. So much glamour.
I love this color on her. She looks great!
I kept waiting for the Prada joke to drop. But this was actually fine.
She’s so gorgeous. So, so gorgeous. Her skin glows in this color (she generally has pretty amazing skin).
Eh, the peach dress reads promy to me (satin often does) and the fit isn’t great in the hips. However, I felt compelled to comment on those floral shoes at the end. I die. I love them.
Yeah, I see prom dress. The color is great, and she’s pretty, but it looks kind of cheap.
Call me crazy, but I don’t like the bodice on this one. The color of the dress is a wow though.
I love her hair! It’s so soft & pretty. I do agree that she needs more lip color. That color on her is perfect!
The coral tone is absolutely beautiful on her, but that bodice just looks so out of place. She’s fairly small in the bust and the bodice isn’t hugging her well at all. I get where they were going with glitzy design, but they could have incorporated it better into the skirt.
I agree that it doesn’t quite fit her. You can see it in her hips that the fabric is reaching.
Not crazy about the second outfit either. Kerry has a thing for florals. And while they’re quite pretty, the styles she wears seem really out of season, like that floral disaster from the NAACP awards. More suited for springtime, not late winter.
I don’t like the bodice at all. Looks like a doily.
Hate the bodice, hate the belt, and even just standing there she looks all lumpy where she shouldn’t be. But the color is great.
She’s always doing this 60s look lately, which makes me like this less. I love a good 60s style dress, but you can’t do it all the time (aka the above to and the sea green and bubble gum pink dress).
I actually love the first dress, but not for the oscars, and the second I don’t like – but I do love the shoes.
I liked the dress, it looked better when she was walking. But I hated her hair, no matter how shiny it is, the parted in the middle gives her giant hair arches and makes her forehead look huge–like Tyra’s “five-head.”
I think her Oscar dress is pretty, but I’d lose the silly miniature bow. Love the floral shoes, but too matchy-matchy with that outfit.
The fit wasn’t right when she walked. I wasn’t crazy about this one. She is so so very pretty though.
I’d punch a nun in the throat for those flowery pumps. I’d wear them with a solid color outfit, however.
The beaded louboutins are to die for. Now those are COUTURE.
