I love that Chrissy Teigen was basically like, “I would NEVER wear something this, so I figured, why not!” I mean, it didn’t come out quite like that, but she’s right: This isn’t something I ever would have pictured on her, so it’s fun that she branched out, and boy was it worth it:
The runway version had a belt, but I think it’s lovely both ways. I had pegged this for a starlet, like a Lily Collins type, but in the end I think it ended up on the right person. It was a great Go Big moment on a night where there weren’t many, and bless her for that, because shouldn’t the Oscars be awards season going out with a bang, not a whimper? So thanks for the bang, Chrissy. Wait, that came out wrong.
