It takes some serious work to attend four different events in one weekend, swing big at all of them, and yet do it in completely different ways. Even when the results don’t work for me, it’s clear Ruth Negga and her stylist (Karla Welch) are simpatico and have an intense amount of fun together. Looking at these it makes me want to see what DIDN’T make the cut.

I love it, frankly. A deeper lip would’ve sealed it, but I think this take on the iconic Chanel suit is perfect for her. I wouldn’t have put her and that brand together, I don’t think, but Team Negga found the right way to do it. She looks like a monarch trying to keep it chill at a State occasion, but she can’t, because she’s just a natural born queen.
